Tumblarity does not value original content and encourages users to post based on the criteria “Will this garner a lot of facile internet attention?” rather than “Is this meaningful?”. Or: it sucks.
Rather than having such a shallow metric constantly thrown in your dashboard-checking face, install this userscript, remove that nasty shit, and keep on keepin’ on.
Version History
0.1b: Now works beyond first page of dashboard.
0.1b.1: Automatically checks for and notifies you of updates.
0.5.2: Tumblarity is now hidden on all pages (dashboard, tumblelog, queue, drafts, etc.). If you try to access your Tumblarity page (http://tumblr.com/activity), you’ll instead be greeted with your Swagglarity, which, as you may have guessed, is always 1018. The script now works with all version of Chrome and Safari. Sam Kelly was nice enough to let me know it was the auto-update code that was screwing it up outside of Firefox. It has been sacrificed. Update yo damn self.Issues, errors, ideas? Let me know so that I can update the script.
Fuck it, dude. Let’s go bowling.
Oh and tumblr staff, figure it out already: if tumblaritysucks already has this many followers, a tumblarity that has cracked the top 1,500 U.S. blogs in four days, and hundreds of users that have installed a script to remove your feature, you have failed. Miserably.
